How Not To Get WET

Get WET

Get WET

I had a hard time reviewing this game. I had to force myself to keep playing so I would have enough to write about. This game was awful. I’m sorry Miss Dushku, please don’t beat me up.

The storyline goes as follows. You play Rubi, a fixer. As in, if there’s a problem, she fixes it. Violently. Rubi is hired to do a job and is subsequently betrayed, and she goes on a predictably bloody rampage to get revenge.

Final Fantasy XIII Launch Date Announced

FFXIII Logo

Square-Enix just announced a March 9, 2010 North American launch date for Final Fantasy XIII on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The news will, no doubt, be welcome amongst the throngs of eager Final Fantasy fans on our continent. I am anxiously awaiting reviews of the title from Japan when the game is unleashed over there, but I have no doubt that Square-Enix will continue their excellent tradition of satisfying their fans.

In addition to the launch date, it was announced that Leona Lewis will provide Final Fantasy XIII with its theme song titled, “My Hands”. The track will be released on November 17, 2009 on her sophomore album titled ECHO.

As always, you can make the jump to read the full press release for more details!

I wonder if I could keep it open and heat my apartment for the winter....
So, here we are. Three sixty and I. Face-to-faceplate. It’s been an interesting couple of weeks since your DVD drive surrendered its will to live (Part 1Part 2), but now the time has come to remedy your ailment thanks to the generous organ donation of another Xbox 360 that has since moved on to wherever dead consoles go (the city dump?).

At first, there was a bit of apprehension after making the decision to repair the console myself, but after finding a few websites and helpful guides, my fear subsided. I learned the project I was undertaking would be a little simpler than I had initially anticipated. Having said that, I’ll tell you about my first foray into console repair after the jump.

No, my Xbox 360 didn't RROD, but this was still an effective picture to use.

It’s been more than a week since I posted about the unfortunate demise of my Xbox 360′s DVD drive. So, here I am delivering the follow-up that I promised.

Early last week, I finally made contact with someone that I connected with a few years ago to see if I could get the system fixed without incurring the sizeable charge that Microsoft asks for when repairing out-of-warranty systems. There was some movement on that front and I thought I was in luck! Sadly, it was not to be….

Gaming On Borrowed Time [With A 360]

Xbox 360

Oh Xbox 360. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve shared a full life together. You even RROD’d on me just after the warranty expired. Thankfully, a little angel swooped down and answered my surprisingly widely published prayer. While you came back refurbished and with a new serial number, I loved you as if you were my own. Now, here we are again. You sit silent as your ability to read [discs] has been lost. So, here comes the $30-$200 question. Do I fix you myself, call upon those who so graciously helped me before, or send you to your maker to be made new again?

How I Learned To Love Halo

halo 3 ODST Hunter

You might call me a Halo convert. When Halo 3 launched two years ago, I was one of the naysayers. It’s over-hyped! It doesn’t do anything new or interesting with the genre. Master Chief talks — everyone knows silent protagonists make for better immersion!
