While checking out SXSW ScreenBurn Arcade I came across the iVerse digital comics booth. The company is creating a digital comic reader for various platforms — including iPhone, iPad, and Android. PSP_adhocParty_lobbies

SCEA is announcing adhocParty, the PSP internet multiplayer service, will be launching stateside in November. AdhocParty, a PS3 service, will allow a PSP to play local adhoc multiplayer games over the internet utilizing a direct wireless connection with a PS3. The service, by the way, launched in Japan last year.

The press release mentions “select” titles, so PSP games will have to explicitly support the service in order to utilize it. Gran Tourismo PSP and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite are slated to support the service.

GTA: Chinatown Wars, which was originally released for the DS back in March, came out today for PSP on UMD and PSN. The game, which received impressive reviews when it released for the DS, will feature optimized controls, graphics and some exclusive missions. Anyone who didn’t get a chance to play this gem the first time around should pick it up as soon as possible. What could be better than getting to run over prostitutes on the go? Check past the break for some intense gameplay footage (and check out the pretty graphics!).

Amazon Now Offers PSN Content

Now your friends can buy you presents without leaving the comfort of their home. Sony announced today that PlayStation Network Games for both the PS3 and PSP will be available on Amazon. The 200 titles that will be available on Amazon include Flower, PAIN, Fat Princess, Super Stardust HD, and LocoRoco. Lazy shoppers around the world rejoice—you can now show your love for your fellow gamer with a few clicks of your mouse. I know exactly what my little brother is getting this holiday season.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

A PSN update from a few weeks back finally saw the release of a demo for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Capcom’s attempt at bringing Japanese cash-cow Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G to the western regions.

Does Unite look to have what it takes to set the US PSP sales charts aflame, or will it repeat the ‘blink and you’ve missed it’ releases of the earlier Monster Hunter Freedom games?

Impressions: Patapon 2
