Ms. Cindy Play Facebook – Zoo World

Dear readers, I’ve not forgotten about y’all… it’s just that nothing was really worth writing about. Until now….

But first, I want to tell y’all what I did over the holidays. I made my first visit to the San Diego Zoo. OMG, I loved it! The animals, the park, the air…everything was great. So, I’ve been thinking, “why isn’t there a zoo game on Facebook?” It turns out, there is one (and a few others that are really poorly developed). Apparently, I was just a little behind the craze. Zoo World, developed by RockYou!, has reached over 13 million monthly active users in just six months. Well, I’ve been playing Zoo World for a few weeks now. So far, Zoo World has been an okay game… but the game is a little too simple so it lacks excitements… I mean, nothing really stands out.

A Look At PS3 Facebook Integration

PS3_Facebook_integration

Sony released the PS3′s Facebook integration a few weeks ago and Tim and I had a chance to check it out over the weekend. To be honest, this integration seems bare-bones at best.

Stoves and counters in Café World are important in this game. You can unlock more as you level up.

I love food and I like cooking. But until I’ve developed a keen sense for smell and taste, I probably won’t become the next Remy or Gusteau (from Ratatouille) anytime soon. So instead, I’ve been cooking online, and have been playing Zynga’s new game, Café World — another build-your-own-restaurant game. The phenomenal success of Playfish’s Restaurant City has definitely inspired Zynga to target the cooking category. Although the game just came out a month ago, I had to give this game a try. It has already (shockingly) reached over 28 million monthly active users. This puts the game on the number 2 spot of the most popular Facebook game, right behind Zynga’s Farmville.

Facebook ads

For anyone who’s been reading Cindy’s Facebook reviews The Escapist’s Andy Chalk reports that many of the ads used by Facebook games like Farmville are actually scams.

Country Story's goal is to create a virtual farming experience.

Farming is just so overwhelmingly popular these days, the rate people are adding these games on Facebook is growing faster than I can text. Ok, bad comparison… but you get the idea. So I have decided to continue this craze.

Country Story is Playfish’s latest creation in this category. In short, this newcomer is well-crafted, and stands out from its peers. What makes Country Story different than other farming games (like Farmville), is that the game is not just about planting and harvesting crops over and over again, nor as fast as possible. Country Story wants to create a virtual farming experience — a place free of all that fast-paced city stress. To be honest, initially I didn’t like the slow-paced gameplay Country Story offers (maybe it’s just too different from the other farming games). But as the game grew on me, I started to appreciate and find myself emerged in a whole new farming experience.

Ms. Cindy Play Facebook – Farmville

Boys and girls, pick up your computer mouse and start farming!

Chances are, you’ve probably heard of Farmville.

Farmville (developed by Zynga) is the most popular game on Facebook with over 55 million monthly active users. Farming is so hot these days, I had to give this game a try. Overall, the game is very easy to play and navigate. However, after a month of being a farmer, I got kinda bored. There just aren’t that many activities to keep me entertained.

Ms. Cindy Play Facebook – Pet Society

Mango walking around town...

Playing Pet Society (by Playfish) is like playing a 21st century version of Tamagotchi with some Sims flavor. With almost 18 million monthly active users, Pet Society became popular not just because users can own virtual pets, but also because they can actually manifest themselves as those strange and hybrid-looking pets in this vast world of Facebook social network. As for me, it’s like playing house all over again! But, the game can also be frustrating. Because earning coins can be a painfully slow process.

Vivox voicechat on Facebook

Vivox is a middleware company looking to integrate their voice chat interface into games. They are partnered with MMO developers such as NCSoft, Sony Online Entertainment and CCP Games. They are also working with EA to integrate voicechat into Command and Conquer 4. In addition to their game technology, Vivox is developing a voice chat application for Facebook. It is currently in closed beta but the representative, Jennifer Frkanec, said a public beta will be opened in two or three weeks.

Owning a restaurant is a serious business.

Hi! Welcome to Ms. Cindy Play Facebook. Join me bi-weekly, as I introduce and take you through some of the hottest and (not so hot) social games on Facebook!

One of the things I do daily, beside brushing my teeth, thinking about food, and telling myself to go on a diet, is playing Restaurant City. Developed by Playfish, Restaurant City has been my favorite game for the past two months (which means I’ve replaced Wii-time with computer/online-time! Sorry, Wii.)
