Attention Austin, TX game developers! Phil Knoll will be holding his second Game Jam session on January 23rd, 2010 at the Austin Public Library: Carver Branch from 10:00AM to 4:30PM. The idea behind this free session is to build a small game in six hours using Flash ActionScript 3.0 with the Flixel framework.
Network with Austin developers. Develop your skills. Learn how to make a game. If you’re a coder, artist, designer – anyone who wants to make games – bring your own computer, have fun, and learn a thing or two.
When I attended the first session we kick started a game we’re still working on now. Phil’s experience helped me overcome a few hurdles in the complicated process of getting started.
For more information, visit Phil’s site at autopoetica.org.
There’s a chance Adam Saltsman, Flixel creator, will show up. Maybe a higher chance if you (yes, you) show up. This is a regular occasion. I’d like to see him one of these times.
